Johan Botling – Molecular tumour pathology

The translational tumour pathology research group was founded in 2008 by the pathologists Patrick Micke and Johan Botling. The basis for our research is the strong conviction that reliable translational cancer research is dependent on carefully selected human cancer tissues, stringently reviewed by pathologists. Only in the context of the actual cell composition, including the tumor stroma and inflammatory cells, a meaningful interpretation of extracted molecular information is possible.

The translational tumour pathology group aims to integrate clinical, histopathological and molecular data from human cancer tissue to address the complexity of human tumourigenesis.
